ICT 10 First Quarter Reflection: Understanding the Internet

In the first quarter of ICT 10, I've realize that the internet is not just a simple tool for entertainment, it's a system with many different parts that work together. The lessons on Internet Access, Internet Browsers, Web blogs and Search Engines have really helped me understand how I communicate with the digital world everyday.

Internet Access is the most important thing, without it no concepts will matter. I learned that it comes in different forms such as wifi at home or mobile date on my phone and the quality of the connections has an effect on my online experience. In internet browser I learned that my browser, is what takes the code of a website and shows it to me in a way I can understand. When ma'am evelyn told us that we will have a lesson about the Web blogs, I mostly thought of them as just online journals. Now I can see that they have a big part on the internet, allowing people to share their thoughts and knowledge through the internet. In this lesson it made me a more careful reader and helped me to share my thoughts and knowledge on the internet. Blogs shows how the internet gives everyone a chance to be a writer, content creator and more. Lastly, the search engine, it is the most important tool for a student like me. It's how I find information about my school projects and in our research. I have learned that search engine uses a rules to sort through a big amount of an information to find the most relevant results. Knowing how to use it properly, by using specific keywords and phrases. has made my research much faster and more effective.

Sometimes during class discussions it was hard for me to focus because in the computer lab it's so cold and it makes me feel sleepy. To distract from my sleepiness, I try to ask my classmates some questions and look at the TV and listen to Ma'am Evelyn carefully. And when Ma'am Evelyn gave us a quiz, it was hard for me because sometimes it was identification because I can't recall all the topics we discussed, but to overcome this, I review and review so that for the next quiz, I'll get a better score. I just hope Ma'am Evelyn will give us activities during class discussion so we won't be sleepy.

These lesson made me a smart and safe internet user. I feel more confident knowing how these lessons work together to form the internet experience. Looking ahead, I understand that these skills are very important for everything since everyone is using the internet.

A Glimpse Into My Life

Photo Blog: Coastal Clean-Up Drive

Coastal Clean-Up Drive Last week when we went to Chocosurf, I noticed that there was so much trash around the beach. This was caused by people throwing their trash around the beach. The Young Dreamers Club in our zone has decided to hold a clean-up drive here to help lessen the trash around the beach. So, I have volunteered to participate in the coastal clean-up drive. We picked up so much trash around the beach, such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, and many more. Every area had different types of trash. After picking up the trashes w e put it in the trash can. We have picked up so many trashes that it didn't fit in the garbage bag we bought. So the rest of it we put it in the garbage around the beach. I hope people will clean their area after eating in the beach and bring their own garbage bag to lessen the trashes and to keep the beach clean.

ICT Second Quarter Reflection

The second quarter was a time of big learning for me, especially about how to build things on the internet. The most important thing I discovered was how to correctly use the different kinds of tag attributes. I learned that these attributes are special extra instructions that you add inside a tag to make it change. They tell the tag what color to be, how big to be, or where to go on the page. Getting to know these special instructions has helped me take much better control of the web pages I am learning to make. It was a major step forward from just knowing the basic tags themselves. I did not have very many hard problems during this quarter. Everything went smoothly for the most part, but the toughest challenge I faced was having to put in the tag attributes—or encoding them—perfectly. The computer is very strict.
